Tuck and Louisa's Trip to Dublin

After six long months and an even longer ocean between them, Tuck and Louisa finally made their way to Dublin. Tuck arrived first, tail wagging, big hearted and blissfully unaware of just how big a journey he had conquered. He was the kind of dog who leaned his whole body into love, a gentle lug who believed the world was mostly good and that everyone existed to be his friend. Louisa followed close behind, eyes wide and cautious, emotionally soft and afraid of just about everything.

New sounds, new smells, new accents. It was all a lot. She stayed close, drawing courage from Tuck’s steady presence. The reunion was everything it needed to be. The moment they saw their family, six months of separation dissolved into pure joy. The kids could not stop petting the dogs. The adults could not stop kneeling down, burying their faces in familiar fur. Tuck soaked up every ounce of attention like it was his full time job.

Louisa hesitated for only a second before realizing this was home again, then she melted right in, loved more fiercely than ever. Now, in their new life across the ocean, there is one adventure waiting at the top of their list. The beach.

Soon, Tuck will trot toward the waves, brave and curious, probably barking at the water as if it personally offended him. Louisa will hang back at first, unsure, then inch forward step by careful step until the sand is under her paws and the ocean air wraps around her like a promise. After everything they crossed to be together again, this is just the beginning.
