Taika's Trip to the UK

Taika has never been one for long goodbyes. He's the kind of dog who follows his humans from room to room, who waits patiently by the door just in case a walk is on the horizon, and who believes every couch was built for cuddling.

So when the boxes started appearing and the house began to echo, Taika noticed. His family was moving across an ocean, from the US to Bristol, England. For a while, the future felt like one long stretch of waiting.

Those months were hard on everyone. There was the planning, the paperwork, and the quiet worry of picturing their bestest boy making the journey across the Atlantic. Taika felt it too. He was still loving and patient, still ready to lean his whole weight against a leg for comfort, but something in him seemed to be holding its breath.

Then came the day he arrived in Bristol.

The moment they saw him, it was like a giant weight lifted off all of them at once. Hands in fur, a wagging tail, the familiar thump of a happy dog against happy people. And Taika? He looked lighter than he had in months. Relaxed, bright-eyed, practically bouncing with energy, as if he'd known all along that this was where the story was headed.

Now the family is together again, and Taika has big plans. Britain, it turns out, is a very dog-friendly country, and he intends to make the most of it.

He wants to run on the beach with the wind in his ears. He wants to visit farms and say hello to every sheep willing to make eye contact. He wants to hike through the countryside, where the paths go on for miles and every hedgerow holds a new smell. He wants to ride on trains, nose pressed to the window as the fields roll by.

And most of all, he wants to make dog besties on the Bristol Downs: wide open grass, plenty of new friends, and his humans never far behind.

Taika's new chapter is just getting started. This time, they're writing it together.
