Plato's Trip to China

Plato has never been one for big entrances. He’s the kind of dog who peeks around corners before committing to a room, who startles at a dropped spoon, and who wins over every stranger anyway with one tilt of his head. Shy, skittish, and impossibly cute, Plato prefers his world small and familiar.

So when his family’s move took them from the USA to China, his journey was going to be anything but small.

The separation stretched on much longer than anyone had planned. Days turned into weeks, and back in their new home, his person counted every one of them. But through it all, Plato was in good hands. He was fed, comforted, and looked after by people who understood that a nervous dog needs patience as much as paperwork.

Then came drop-off day.

The van pulled up. The door slid open. For a moment, Plato hesitated, the way he always does. Then he saw who was waiting for him.

All that shyness disappeared. His tail went wild, his whole body wiggled, and the dog who usually hangs back couldn’t get close enough. It was an emotional, tearful, wonderful reunion, and his person felt nothing but gratitude that their boy had been so well cared for the whole way.

Now Plato is settling into life in China, one cautious sniff at a time. At the top of his bucket list? A brand-new fluffy bed, the perfect spot for a well-traveled pup to finally rest.
