Fizzgig's Flight Across the Pond

With a name like Fizzgig, you might expect drama, mischief, or at the very least, a puff of fire and flair. Inspired by the fuzzy, wide-mouthed creature from The Dark Crystal, this 13-pound Maine Coon certainly lives up to the legend—equal parts majestic and mischievous. But when it came time to leave Philadelphia for his new life in London, Fizzgig swapped theatrics for grace, handling his international journey like an absolute pro.

From the start, his human made sure everything was in expert hands, partnering with Starwood Pet Travel and the amazing coordinator Sarah. "Even my vet commented on how on top of things you were," she shared. And that preparation paid off every step of the way.

Fizzgig was entrusted to the gentle care of Danny and Derrick (or maybe it was a very kind Derrick-in-spirit), who treated him not just like cargo, but like royalty. “They said Fizzgig did so well,” his owner said, “and I’m convinced that’s because everyone was so nice to him.” With all the proper paperwork and crate setup handled ahead of time, customs was a breeze, and Fizzgig’s arrival in London was met with care, updates, and even a follow-up call to make sure he had landed safe and sound.

Now settling into his new kingdom across the pond, Fizzgig is doing wonderfully—stretching out in sunbeams, finding new perches, and possibly plotting his next great adventure (or nap). One thing’s for sure: this legendary feline had a journey worthy of his name, and a team that treated him like the star he is.
